There are times I miss Moi. These times are like the present. In spite of all his failings, Moi would never had allowed the nation to deteriorate like this.
A few of these political leaders who are said to have instigated the ethnic clashes would be in Kamiti.
Sometimes a country requires a leader will balls. Someone who will take up challenge to restore peace without appeasing.
Lets not forget about Moi and the Rift valley Clashes that did go on for a while before he took major action!
you have a good point! Kamiti oh yes — but some of the insitagators/ Politicians have been there and don’t fear it! So what good would it really do?
Won’t ever M-o-i, he killed more Kikuyus in 1992/7 than we have lost so far. And he was a thief with little economic imagination…
Moi is the source of all this problems we are facing now following his past injustices to various communities except Kalenjin.
If Moi had risen over the state of affairs in the election and avoided being partisan, he would be the statesman solving this menace that has hit our country.
I agree with you entirely. These are the facts.
Moi was a leader with BALLS! He almost seemed omnipresent in every aspect of the Kenyan show. Where is the other dude?Have you heard of him intervening in the latest turn of events?Moi would be right there in the midst of the bonfire solving the problem. This is the clothe that cuts a leader.
Friends, look beyond Kikuyuism. We are talking about Kenya here and Magothe wants us to believe this is a tribal issue, its more than being trivialised as such. I mis MOI too!
correction : miss
I miss the balls part.
I know many would hate to hear this but Moi was a far wiser and better leader than Kibaki could ever dream of becoming. And yet, as we all know, Moi was a bad leader
Shiro i know why you miss the balls part.. ati becuase you would like him to use the heavy tactics on ODM …. i think by now even a mad person knows this is beyond the elections……..
ALL OF YOU ARE SACKS OF EMPTY AIR….WHEN WILL U LEARN TO DISCUSS SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE LIKE WHAT YOU WILL EAT TOMORROW?
Owuor,
Some of us know what we are eating this day next year but i don’t think it is a subject at this time. The political situation is grave!
Moi had an authority about him that gave all the message that somebody was in control. That we are lacking.
I agree! Sometimes, it helps for one to seem in control. Kibaki does not seem to be in control. My mother suggested to me that maybe the military should take over
Owuor, this IS about what we will eat tomorrow! Because Kibaki and his group have no balls, people continue killing each other and therefore we are not able to produce food! DUH!
Hear hear
SO U ALL EAT BALLS TOMORROW?
GARBAGE CONTRIBUTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please stick to one Monicker Mr Owuor!! In your endevour to insult people, you forget that IP addresses mark you
I neither miss Moi the individual nor the institution… what I want right now for my country is a President who has balls… where is he when all of this chaos, killing and near-genocide is going on? I’ll tell you where… He is sitting pretty in our state owned house. He knows what he is eating tomorrow, while we can’t be sure. We need a President who can call shots and not just read from a pre-written speech… we need a leader to take on ODM head-to-head… we need a brave man…sadly we have non of these.
I have just seen the pictures of burnt Kenyans and I feel so helpless. Am a father and I need to protect my kids from this type of hatred
In as much as I refrain from discussing politics (politriks?) via blog, on this one issue I agree with you. He who has power to stop the violence and carnage and doesn’t, is as bad or even worse than those perpetrating it!
And yes, if the only thing that will stop this is militia and a state of emergency, then surely that is not too high a price to pay to stop the killing. Every day you think it can’t get worse, then it does.
Shiro i know why you miss the balls part.. ati becuase you would like him to use the heavy tactics on ODM …. i think by now even a mad person knows this is beyond the elections……..
Kip it is so sad that you can never see this beyond ODM.
i meant things
Moi was better in more than one aspect. Take for example healthwise. Can MK run up a flight of stairs if his life depended on it? I think, (my thoughts) health plays a big role in leadership.
shiro you why …you Know why ..its becuase i can see right through your well crafted and stage managed ..”concern for democracy” or whatever other terms and notions you conjure. let first be honest with ourselves before we go to talk about democracy lets have a national dialogue but when you ask people to go to court in your blog …….i am left wondering about your criticall thinking and analytical skills….
your last post though was a bit more rational and honest enough. I thought you almost saw things as what they really are……
